LOCAL INSIGHT

South Carolina's population keeps climbing and tourism carries the coast

The South Carolina Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office projects the state will grow 29 percent, from 5.1 million people in 2020 to 6.6 million in 2040. It also reports that South Carolina is the second fastest growing state in the Southeast. The SBA counted 530,402 small businesses in 2025, with other services leading at 68,832 firms and professional services at 63,369. New residents arrive without any knowledge of local providers, so they search and choose from what they find.

Tourism is a large part of the economy. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism calls it an estimated $31 billion industry. The SBA data count 19,097 small accommodation and food service firms and 57,078 in construction, so visitor driven and local trade businesses sit side by side, and small businesses employ 42.9 percent of the state's workers. A hospitality business needs out of state visitors to find it, and a contractor needs its neighbors to find it first.

Rankwyre builds websites and online stores for South Carolina owners, and runs Google and Meta ads aimed at the new residents and visitors each business wants to reach.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with South Carolina businesses.

For a South Carolina business, the path from first call to launch looks like this.

  1. Tell us the goal.

A short call covers what you do and what you want from a site. Then the price goes in writing.

  2. Design with previews.

The site is designed and built in stages, and you get a preview to react to before it is final.

  3. Search presence nearby.

We add a Google Business Profile, local listings and service-area pages so people nearby can find you.

  4. Launch day and after.

Your website launches in about 7 days, with hosting and updates included and support when you need it.
