LOCAL INSIGHT

Casper's business arrives in short bursts around rodeos and events

Visit Casper reported that Natrona County had 824,000 visitors in 2025, down 1.3 percent from the year before, with 1,922,000 overnight stays averaging 2.3 days. Visitors spent $376.9 million, travel supported 3,000 jobs (about 5 percent of county jobs) and visitor spending produced $19.2 million in state and local taxes. With stays that short, a traveler decides quickly where to eat or shop, and the business with a clear listing gets the visit.

Demand clusters around events. The Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo drew 140,000 gate admissions from July 4 to 12, 2025 and added $3,467,950 to the local economy, with visitors coming from Gillette, Douglas, Riverton, Denver and Rock Springs. The College National Finals Rodeo is staying at the Ford Wyoming Center for another 10 years, and Visit Casper credited its business development work with $34.2 million of impact in 2025 and said a Hyatt Place was due to open in January 2026. Event weeks are busy and the weeks between are not, so a business needs both a way to catch the surge and customers who return.

Rankwyre builds Casper businesses a website with the menu, hours and booking details visitors look for, and runs Google and Meta ads timed to rodeo and tournament weeks.
