LOCAL INSIGHT

Birmingham businesses sell across a region of seven counties

The Birmingham Business Alliance works across seven central Alabama counties, and one of its published pieces describes a region where people live in one community, work in another and spend their money somewhere else. UAB puts the metro at 1.1 million residents. A Birmingham business rarely serves only the people next door. Listings and pages that name the neighborhoods and suburbs it covers help it appear for those wider searches.

UAB is the largest single employer in Alabama, with more than 28,000 employees, and a study for fiscal 2022 put its yearly impact on the state at $12.1 billion and 107,687 jobs. Enrollment passed 21,500 students in 2022. Innovation Depot, a nonprofit tech incubator founded in 1987, now operates in a 140,000 square foot building at 1500 1st Ave N that opened in 1941 as a Sears department store. Staff, students and founders search for lunch, services and software every working day, so being easy to find nearby counts.

Rankwyre builds web apps and CRMs for founders and growing companies, and websites for the shops and service firms around them.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with Birmingham businesses.

Four parts, in order, with the price settled in the first.

  1. Intro call, written scope.

You tell us about the business on a short call. We reply with what we'll build and what it costs, in writing.

  2. Pages in progress.

You see drafts and a preview while we design and build, and each round of notes shapes the next one.

  3. Be findable across the county.

We set up the Google Business Profile, local listings and service-area pages so people around Jefferson County can find the business.

  4. Launch and afterward.

The site goes live with hosting and updates included. If you need a change later, we handle it.
