LOCAL INSIGHT

Fort Smith is adding pilot training and plant jobs

The Fort Smith Regional Chamber's growth list shows the Air Force chose Ebbing Air National Guard Base in March 2023 for pilot training, and units to train F-35 pilots were activated in July 2024. In 2021 the city was selected for a pilot training center with an estimated $1 billion economic impact. Hotels, restaurants and contractors near the base need listings that show correct hours and services to visitors who are new to town.

The chamber also lists plant and logistics news: a Trane Technologies expansion adding more than 60 jobs (August 2025), an Amazon delivery station (July 2025), 76 jobs at Umarex (January 2024), and a Mercy cancer center project (August 2025). Talk Business reported in 2017 that the former Fort Chaffee site, Chaffee Crossing, had sold 4,405 acres and drawn over $1.2 billion in investment, and that Whirlpool closed its plant in 2012. Suppliers selling to these plants need to be found by the people who buy for them.

Rankwyre builds web apps and CRMs for quoting and job tracking, and websites for contractors and suppliers working around Chaffee Crossing and Ebbing.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with Fort Smith businesses.

Starting a project from Fort Smith involves four stages, from a first call to a finished site.

  1. Describe what you sell.

A short call covers your goals and budget. The price comes back in writing before we start.

  2. Look at a draft, push back.

You get a preview while the work is underway, and every round of changes starts from what you tell us.

  3. Making searches land on you.

We set up the Google Business Profile, local listings and area pages, so the site isn't sitting there unfound.

  4. Hosted, live, supported.

Your site launches in about 7 days with hosting and updates covered, and support stays available afterward.
