LOCAL INSIGHT

Rochester, MN runs on Mayo Clinic and has a downtown under construction

Minnesota's State Demographic Center estimates Rochester at 124,220 residents in 2024, up 2,825 from the 2020 census, which makes it the state's third largest city. The City of Rochester describes health care as its largest industry, with Mayo Clinic as the largest employer. A business near Mayo serves patients, visitors and staff, and anyone new to the area finds nearby places through search.

Rochester's city profile cites Census data showing 14.1% of residents are foreign born and 18.7% speak a language other than English. Downtown is also changing. The Link bus rapid transit line runs 2.8 miles along 2nd Street with 12 stops and is expected to serve about 11,000 people a day. Its construction season continues from March 2026 to August 2027, and East Center Street is being rebuilt from spring to fall 2026. Businesses on torn up streets are harder to reach, so a correct hours listing and a site that explains access matter.

We keep Google Maps and local listings accurate for Rochester businesses affected by construction and build websites that tell customers how to reach them.
