LOCAL INSIGHT

New Hampshire's businesses are small and its visitors seasonal

Small businesses employ 50.1 percent of New Hampshire's workers, per the SBA Office of Advocacy. The state has 142,626 small businesses, 99.0 percent of firms. Professional, scientific and technical services leads at 21,837, with construction at 20,513 and real estate at 15,867. Owners here mostly run small teams, so a single website often stands in for a sales department.

The BLS counted 688,827 covered jobs in December 2025 at 67,879 establishments, with an average weekly wage of $1,652 against $1,569 nationally. Hillsborough County leads with 200,600 workers, and the three largest counties hold 63.0 percent of jobs. Tourism adds seasonal pressure. In fiscal 2023 the state's tourism division reported 4.5 million summer visitors spending $2.3 billion, plus $1.7 billion in fall and $1.5 billion in winter. Its marketing targeted Massachusetts, New Jersey and Montreal, among other markets, so visitors often come from out of state.

Rankwyre builds websites for New Hampshire businesses and updates them as the season shifts, and its maintenance and support covers hours, menus and rates. Local listings help a lodge, shop or contractor stay accurate when a visitor searches.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with New Hampshire businesses.

A New Hampshire project runs in four parts, and you'll know the cost from the start.

  1. Talk first, quote next.

We spend a short call on your goals and send the price in writing before starting.

  2. Rough to refined.

Drafts show up as pages are built and you tell us what to change. A website takes roughly 7 days.

  3. Get on the local map.

Your Google Business Profile, listings and service-area pages are built around the places you serve.

  4. Go public, stay supported.

Hosting and updates are part of the plan. After launch, you can still get help from us.
