Louisiana Economic Development says the state has more than 300 process manufacturing facilities, over 150 petrochemical plants and 15 refineries, which account for about one sixth of U.S. refining capacity. It reports roughly 50,000 miles of pipeline, four LNG export facilities and access to five of the top 15 U.S. ports by tonnage, with logistics supporting more than 110,000 jobs.
