LOCAL INSIGHT

Delaware has 2.29 million registered entities

Delaware's Division of Corporations reported 2,287,728 business entities with Delaware as their legal home in 2025, including 334,461 new formations that year. The division says over two thirds of the Fortune 500 are on the list. The U.S. Small Business Administration counts 111,346 small businesses actually operating in the state, which employ 50.6 percent of workers. The registry is far larger than the set of businesses operating in the state.

That market splits two ways. The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists Dover as its own metro and Wilmington as part of the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington area that spans Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. Education and health services is the largest job sector at 94,600 of 496,400 jobs in August 2026 (preliminary), and professional, scientific and technical services leads the small business count at 17,099 firms. A Wilmington business competes in a Philadelphia sized search market, while a Dover business competes in a small one.

Rankwyre builds websites and sets up Google Maps and local listings for Delaware businesses in Wilmington and Dover, remotely and at the same price as any other state.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with Delaware businesses.

Delaware businesses follow four steps with us, starting from a price on paper.

  1. Brief call, written price.

We find out what you need on a short call, then give you a price in writing before the build starts.

  2. Watch the drafts arrive.

The design and build come in drafts. You get a preview partway through and can ask for changes.

  3. Win the local search.

We set up your Google Business Profile, local listings and service-area pages so people nearby find you.

  4. Live in about a week.

Launch takes about 7 days. Hosting and updates are included, and we stay in touch after the site is up.
