CASE STUDY

Portrait Studio Website Design

Kinetic Studio was booking portrait clients through direct messages with striking photography and no site that did any selling. The new site lets the gallery lead and filters serious enquiries before the first call ever happens.

THE CHALLENGE

Where it started

Kinetic is a portrait studio that was booking clients by direct message with striking photography and a web presence that amounted to little more than a link in a bio. The work was strong enough to sell itself, but nothing online was actually doing that selling, so every serious enquiry still had to start as a message instead of a clear next step on a proper site.

The studio needed a site where the photography could fill the frame and lead straight to a booking, with an enquiry process that separated a serious client from someone just browsing before the first call ever had to happen, saving hours every week.

WHAT THEY NEEDED

A portrait studio needs a site that sells before the first message.

The galleries need to carry the page the same way the work itself carries a client's attention, with nothing cluttering the experience around the images themselves on any device or screen size.

An enquiry form needs to ask enough to separate a serious client from someone just browsing, so the studio spends less time qualifying leads over message and more time shooting the work itself.

The studio needs to update content, swap images and publish new pages themselves, without touching code or waiting on a developer for what should be a routine, everyday change to the site.

STRATEGY & EXECUTION

Here is what we built for Kinetic.

Gallery First Homepage

The photography fills the frame from the very first screen, with a single clear path leading from the gallery straight to a booking and nothing else competing with the images for a visitor's attention along the way down the page or across the site, screen after screen and click after click, session after session and shoot after shoot.

Filtering Enquiry Form

An enquiry form asks the questions that separate a serious client from someone just browsing, so the studio spends noticeably less time qualifying leads over message and more time actually behind the camera doing the work that actually pays the bills each month of the year, client after client, session after session, booking after booking.

Responsive Galleries

The galleries are fully responsive across phone, tablet and desktop, so the photography reads the exact same way regardless of the screen size a visitor happens to land on first thing in the morning or late at night scrolling in bed on their phone, screen after screen, tap after tap, swipe after swipe without exception.

A CMS The Team Can Use

A tidy content system lets the team update content, swap images and publish new pages themselves, without touching code or accidentally breaking the careful design underneath the whole site as it grows and adds new work week after week, month after month, shoot after shoot and client after client without slowing down even once, year after year.

Search Friendly Structure

Pages are structured and tagged so the site can be found by search engines as well as by people arriving from a shared link, keeping the site working around the clock rather than only when someone remembers the handle or the exact web address to type in from memory alone, day or night, season after season.

Search-Ready From Day One

Easy to Manage

The site adapts cleanly from desktop to tablet to phone, staying readable and deliberate on whatever device your visitors reach for.

Optimised images, lean code, and careful loading keep the experience fast and Core Web Vitals in the green, so nothing bounces.

Clear hierarchy and well-placed calls to action guide visitors toward the next step, turning casual browsing into real enquiries.

A technically sound foundation with clean structure and metadata helps the site get found and rank for the terms that matter.

A tidy CMS lets the team update content, swap images, and publish new pages without touching code or breaking the design.

THE RESULT

The portfolio now works around the clock instead of waiting on a message.

Photography Carries The Page

The gallery fills the frame with a clear path to booking, so the work itself does the selling instead of waiting on a direct message to even start the conversation.

Serious Leads Filtered First

The enquiry form separates a serious client from someone just browsing, so the studio spends less time qualifying leads and more time actually behind the camera doing paid work that matters.

Fully Responsive Galleries

The galleries hold their layout across phone, tablet and desktop, so the photography reads exactly the same wherever a visitor happens to be looking from at that moment in their day.

A Site The Team Updates

The CMS lets the studio swap images and publish new pages without touching code, so the site stays current and fresh without relying on outside help for routine, everyday changes.

FAQ'S

Questions about the Kinetic project.

How long does a portrait photography website take to build?

Most websites launch in about 7 days, and online stores in about 10. A gallery first site like Kinetic's covers the photography led homepage, the filtering enquiry form and a CMS the team can run themselves, so the studio is taking bookings through the site rather than direct messages.

Can an enquiry form filter out unserious leads before a call?

Yes. Kinetic's enquiry form is built to ask the questions that separate a serious client from someone just browsing, so the studio spends less time qualifying leads over message and more time on the clients who are genuinely ready to book a session that week, not just asking questions out of curiosity.

Can a photography studio update its own galleries after launch?

Yes. Kinetic's site includes a CMS built for the team to use directly, letting them swap images and publish new pages themselves without touching code or needing a developer for what should be routine, everyday updates to the site as new work comes in from each shoot they finish and deliver.
