LOCAL INSIGHT

Tennessee has 741,196 small businesses and a $32.5 billion visitor economy

Tennessee had 741,196 small businesses in 2025, according to the SBA Office of Advocacy, and they employed 1.2 million people. Of those, 637,340 had no employees, about 86 percent. The biggest groups by count were other services (95,835), construction (85,179) and professional, scientific and technical services (83,716). A solo owner in any of those trades is competing against a long list of near identical listings, and what separates them in search is usually a clear website and a complete Google profile.

Visitors are a second audience. Tennessee reported a record $32.5 billion in direct visitor spending for 2025 and calls tourism its second largest industry, with impact in all 95 counties. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited national park in the country, and more than 2.4 million people came through during the 40 days it stayed open in last fall's federal shutdown. The labor market is tight too. The state's unemployment rate held at 3.4 percent in September 2026, and employers added 28,400 nonfarm jobs over the year, led by leisure and hospitality. A business that sells to travelers or competes for staff has to be easy to find and look credible once found.

Our SEO work starts at $599 a month with no setup fee, and it pairs with Google Maps and local listings so a shop, restaurant or tour operator appears when a visitor searches nearby. The same prices apply in Tennessee as anywhere, and hosting, SSL and maintenance are included in every website plan.
