LOCAL INSIGHT

Salem is a state capital sitting inside farm country

The Oregon Employment Department counts Marion and Polk counties as the Salem metro area. Its release for September 2025 shows a civilian labor force of 233,228 and says employment in the two counties grew 2.3 percent over the year, while jobs fell in 23 of Oregon's 36 counties. The Salem Area Chamber says its member companies represent more than 40,000 jobs. A business in the capital is serving state workers, families and farm customers in the same week.

The Willamette Valley Visitors Association describes the valley as home to more than 500 wineries and 170 other crops, and lists Salem among its Mid Willamette Valley cities. Travel Salem promotes harvest festivals at local farms, orchards and pumpkin patches from September into late October, along with the Gilbert House Children's Museum and the IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon triathlon. Willamette University, founded in 1842, has its campus in the city. Much of this trade is seasonal, so the dates, hours and offers on a website need to change with the calendar, and the pages have to rank for the weeks that matter.

Rankwyre builds websites for Salem wineries, farm stands and shops, with event pages that are easy to update, and runs SEO so searches for Salem and nearby Dallas reach the right business.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with Salem businesses.

Salem businesses start with a call and end with a live site, with a few steps between.

  1. Say it, then price it.

A brief call about the business. A written price follows before we start building.

  2. Drafts to react to.

We design and build with previews you can review as pages take shape.

  3. Local presence work.

A Google Business Profile, local listings and service-area pages are set up for searches near Salem.

  4. Live, hosted, supported.

About 7 days to launch a website. Hosting and updates are part of the plan, plus support afterwards.
