LOCAL INSIGHT

Grand Rapids runs on furniture makers, health care and a growing region

The Census ACS for 2020 to 2024 counts 198,535 people in Grand Rapids, and Experience Grand Rapids calls it Michigan's second largest city, with a metro area of about 1.2 million. The Right Place says Greater Grand Rapids led Michigan in population growth, adding more than 32,000 residents since 2020 (Census estimates, 2025). A growing region brings newcomers who do not know local businesses yet, so they search and compare before they visit.

Office furniture is still a core industry. The Right Place counts more than 160 establishments and 14,000 jobs in the region, with Steelcase in Grand Rapids and Haworth in Holland. Health care adds the Medical Mile north of downtown, more than 100,000 health sciences jobs in West Michigan and 55 medical device manufacturers. Manufacturers and device makers sell through long quotes and spec sheets, so they need product pages and request forms that work.

Rankwyre builds websites, online stores and CRMs and runs SEO and ads. A Kentwood or Walker supplier can tie a quote request flow to a web app or CRM, and a downtown shop near the 13 hotels Experience Grand Rapids lists can work on Google Maps and local listings for visitors searching on the move.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with Grand Rapids businesses.

This is how we'd work with a Grand Rapids business, laid out from the opening call to launch.

  1. Open with a conversation.

On a short call we figure out the scope together. A written price follows, and we don't begin any build until it's agreed.

  2. Watch the site take shape.

You'll see drafts rather than a surprise at the end. We send previews while we build, and your edits go straight in.

  3. Be easy to find on Google.

We fill out your Google Business Profile, line up local listings and add service-area pages for the places you cover near Grand Rapids.

  4. Launch and look after it.

Your site goes live on our hosting. Updates are included in the monthly price, and help is there once it's published.
