LOCAL INSIGHT

Military and Space Force payrolls shape Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC says aerospace and defense make up more than 40% of the local economy, with over 200 companies employing 111,000 people and an impact above $10.2 billion in 2022. The Gazette reported in September 2025 that Fort Carson accounts for 32,410 military, civilian, and contractor workers, Space Operations Command for 15,000, and the Air Force Academy for 10,482. A business near those gates needs a site that states its service area, hours, and directions.

In May 2026 the Chamber reported that the Space Force will place a new Infrastructure Portfolio Acquisition Executive at Peterson Space Force Base and build a $250 million operations facility at Schriever, expected to support about 2,500 civilian jobs. The Air Force Academy also welcomes nearly one million visitors a year, and a $65 million visitor center was announced there the same month. Visitors and base workers both search on a phone first, so menus, booking pages, and maps have to load quickly.

Rankwyre builds websites, online stores, and web apps and CRMs for Colorado Springs companies and runs the SEO that puts them in front of those searchers. A contractor serving Fort Carson neighborhoods or a restaurant near the Air Force Academy gets pages written around the places customers actually name.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with Colorado Springs businesses.

Our process for a Colorado Springs business, start to finish, is short and the order never changes.

  1. Scope it, price it.

A quick call to learn what you need, then a written price. You approve it before we write a line of code.

  2. Preview the build.

Early drafts come to you in stages, so you can react to real pages instead of a description.

  3. Get found around town.

Google Business Profile, local listings and service-area pages, plus a page for a phrase you'd want to rank on.

  4. Live, with help on hand.

About 7 days for a website. Hosting and updates are part of the plan, and we answer when something comes up.

BEFORE YOU ASK

Questions from Colorado Springs businesses

What changed most in El Paso County's business mix?

Education, by percentage: 322 locations became 352, up 9.3%. Restaurants and hospitality came next at 4.5%, and health care at 2.9%. Real estate, construction and trades, retail stores and finance and insurance all lost locations.

Are there Colorado pages for nearby cities?

Denver and Aurora both have one. They use their own county's numbers, so the mix differs from El Paso County's. The way we work is the same everywhere: a call, drafts, a launch, and monthly support.

How long does an online store take to launch for a Colorado Springs business?

A typical online store launches in about 10 days. Stores start at $499 a month plus a $499 one-time setup, with no contract and the option to cancel anytime.
