LOCAL INSIGHT

Cedar Rapids has an aerospace payroll and a rebuilt flood district

Collins Aerospace is Cedar Rapids' largest employer with about 7,000 workers and its global avionics headquarters, according to an April 2026 report on new Army MV-75 contracts that will be produced at several sites including Cedar Rapids. The company also won state incentives in March 2023 for a $22 million renovation to produce microchips, with work due to finish in January 2026. Suppliers, recruiters and the services around a large employer all depend on being found when a buyer or new hire searches.

The Cedar River flooded more than ten square miles of the city in June 2008. Since The District: Czech Village and New Bohemia formed in 2009, the two neighborhoods have drawn $146 million in private investment and the city has added $115 million, as of an April 2024 report. NewBo City Market anchors a district that sees thousands of walkers and cyclists on weekends, and the National Czech and Slovak Museum was moved to higher ground in the neighborhood. Small shops and restaurants there live on foot traffic that starts with a search.

Rankwyre builds online stores for makers and shops around NewBo and Czech Village, and websites for the machine shops and service firms that sell to employers like Collins Aerospace.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with Cedar Rapids businesses.

Working with a Cedar Rapids business runs through four steps. None of them involve guessing at cost.

  1. The scoping call.

A short conversation about what you offer. After it, you get a written scope and a fixed price before any design starts.

  2. Design with feedback.

Your pages are designed and built in stages, with a preview each time so you can request changes early.

  3. Local search groundwork.

We handle your Google Business Profile, local listings and pages for each service area so searches around Cedar Rapids can find you.

  4. Go live and stay supported.

A website takes about 7 days to launch. Hosting and updates come with the plan, and we stay available afterward.
